Don't assume.......

As some of you know from reading my blog; I have been in contact with an Ethiopian native since we started out adoption process. When we first starting talking the email from this person was signed Wogayehu.......now I assumed this was a man. I don't even know why I assumed that really, I just did. So thru all this contact I thought that I was talking to an Ethiopian man and then I sent Wogayehu a link to our new adoption blog.......SHE wrote me this morning to tell me that she is actually a lady. Wow, did I feel silly. That just shows you that you shouldn't assume anything. So I have updated the blog and changed all the (him's) to (her's) and also sent an apology email to Wogayehu. she told me that the name, Wogayehu is for boys and girls, so that made me feel a little better about the mistake. But I wanted to apologize to her and to let everyone know that it has been wonderful getting to know her and having a connection to Ethiopia!
